Cool Stuff the HBO series Left Out

I'm more interested with how much faster they are moving Arya's storyline along.

Ah, Dayz totally good point about no hints at R+L=J really in the series. There are tiny hints that Lyanna maybe wasn't kidnapped and raped, but you have to know what you are looking for to spot them. I guess HBO purists will actually be surprised at that reveal.

They really are speeding up Arya's storyline. And... I'm actually kind of worried about that. After last night's ep we can see she's blown it with the Faceless Men.
She's acquired some combat skills, but she needs more than that to make this whole 'detour' worth it. She needs the ability to change faces. Or this was all a circle-jerk, and she may as well have run off with Brienne to train and become a knight at the end of season 4.

Also, I've noticed in the HBO version it seems that it is not just 'face changing' - it's 'form changing'. Jaqen has been the waif (a thin young woman) and he has also been a heavyset older black man. Waiting to see if that was just a screw-up on HBOs part, or intentional.
If intentional... Arya really could become -anybody-.

Oh, quite the opposite!
GRRM confirmed Arya and Gendry have 'different paths'. He has no plans for them to meet up again.
I remember this well because it was... just a few years ago, and the A/G shippers blew a gasket.
I laughed and celebrated with fine Irish whiskey while dancing in their tears.

He may change his mind... but doubtful. He barely writes as it is 

As for what HBO does? Can't say. But as far as I'm concerned, Gendry is still lost out on that boat rowing away till this very day.

Gendry may return to the show or something... that would be enough to get them all riled at this point. -_- ...meh.

No, if there is going to be canon-sadness, it's going to be akin to Bloodlines angst w/ Jon/Dany.

Wow, this thread had me nervous for a while there. i accidentally found GOT fiction on on A03 and lost my mind with all the Arya / Gendry fan fiction till i found the true pairing. i was almost pulling my hair out till i stumbled a little humble fic called Allegiance and i felt a sense of Reclamation.
