Wow, this thread had me nervous for a while there. i accidentally found GOT fiction on on A03 and lost my mind with all the Arya / Gendry fan fiction till i found the true pairing. i was almost pulling my hair out till i stumbled a little humble fic called Allegiance and i felt a sense of Reclamation.
Oh Dayz, so many good memories. You know, your support and reviews are what kept me going sometimes with that fic. I really was so very lucky to find such an awesome group of readers.
And now, here you are, writing two fics of your own. -sniffles- ..full circle.
And on and on and on the list goes, since those are just the Het pairings for our two ladies. I know theres some Dany/Sansa for example. And I'm sure Dany and Arya have been paired with other ladies.
I have my list of OTPs for this fandom. And a list of pairings that are acceptable if I'm reading a fic about another OTP. Dany/Jon for example is acceptable if theres a plot point to it and plays second fiddle to Arya/Dany. ( I'll accept Arya/Dany/Jon too if its done right. But only just, cause Jon and Arya def had a sibling relationship)

I am -resigned- to potential Arya/Dany/Jon because I have read a few theories on the '3-Headed Dragon' being comprised of those three that are pretty compelling... and the fact is, I know in GRRM canon, that is as close as we'd possibly get to just Arya/Dany anyways.
Because the world still sucks. And I need to kill more people to change it.
However, I will also state that my resigned acceptance of that comes with my own headcanon that Jon dies pretty early in to that reign, and it ends up being Arya/Dany left together raising an adorable heir who looks like Dany/Arya combined because Jon and Arya look so frickin' similar. And that is how I sleep at night.

Same. Of course, there are other ways to solve the issue of heirs depending on canon / head canons
Jon/Sansa. If R+L=J, that would net Dany a Targaryen heir given that she herself at this time cant have children of her own. And of all the potental starkcest pairings, Jon and Sansa are the least cringe worthy since they didnt have that sibling relationship, such as the one Jon shared with Arya and Robb.
Theres also Aegon/Arya, assuming that Aegon is actually Dany's trueborn nephew, and not in fact either a Blackfyer, or some random Targaryen look alike (a Mummers Dragon either way) Of course, Arya wouldnt likely agree to it. And Aegon would want to use the child to steal the throne from Dany. Theres also Aegon/Sansa, but that has many of the same problems. I cant see Sansa being keen on being used as a broodmare anymore then Arya at this point given everything shes been through.
Of course, going with magical peen and faceless men being able to change their whole forms. Throwing logic out the window, one could say that its a total shift, so magical peen means magical sperm. So FacelessMan!Arya could give Dany a child in that head canon.
You know - after the Sansa/Jon reunion, I kind of got a 'vibe' - like they may actually go the Jon/Sansa route, because cousins in that world/timeframe are apparently entirely acceptable. That may have just been me Wanting To See Jon With ANYONE Else, though, for Danarya Fandom Reasons.
And very true. As of reality right now, Dany can't have kids. Sure, it's theorized that her condition will change with prophecy, etc etc - but until that actually does happen, she can be Mhysa only to dragons and nations.
And it's funny how, even though technically Arya is (as far as we know) healthy and able to bear children, that never actually really comes up as a viable option. Because technically it is... though I will admit I kind of hate that option, because I like Arya to be a badass warrior/assassin and Not a Lady, and... being pregnant doesn't really fit so well with that. Once again though, that is my own personal bias at play.
I totally think Aegon is a dirty dirty faker. I don't see him lasting long enough to produce an heir, but I could be very wrong. If GRRM every actually finished another book, we'd know far more
And if Arya gets the 'full form' ability that HBO seems to be using - we are probably going to see quite a few new fics coming in that do follow that last head canon.

I too got that vibe. And will accept it. Jon and Tyrion are basically the only men I can imagine Sansa being able to be with, since both treat her with dignity, respect and equality. (Our favorite Lannisters refusing to bed Sansa after their wedding because he would not sleep with someone unwilling, did much to raise him in my esteme). And I can even accept her with Gendry, if only because Robert's bastard boy is the good sort last I knew of him and Sansa after her trails would be more open to accepting marriage to a good man, regardless of social standing, rather then a man of the right birth. Though, dont get me wrong, I still ship Sansa with the ladies. (Although less with Brianna now, only because I like my Lady Knight/Wildling Bear ship. )
Sadly, I think if Gendry and Arya were ever reunited, it would be suggested that they wed because they both look so much like the ghost of Robert and Lyandra. (gag) And isnt there another bastard of Roberts still floating around? Edric Storm? Ward of Stannis last I knew. Or was he too given to the flames of the Red God?
I agree, Aegon is a dirty faker, a Mummer's Dragon. There is no way that Ella wouldnt have known the difference between her son, and another's. And the only way for the switch to have been possible, would it had to happens weeks or more before King's Landing fell during the rebellion. In regards to the whole "The Dragon has Three Heads" I find the theory that Tyrion being a secret Targaryen far more likely then Aegon being Aegon.
There's also been talk about Gendry meeting Arya again in the HBO series! Looks like there's a chance that pairing is going to end up being canon xD I think it was even mentioned GRRM himself confirmed it?
Ok, so an update to this - I do stand corrected. The big news that had those fans acting crazy isn't even really 'big' news at all - GRRM mentioned they run into each other again at some point in the books. No confirmation on any reunion in the HBO series. So that is something he changed his mind on, since at one point he was saying they would not meet up again at all. But it's really not something for them to be all excited about.
He did -not- retact his statement that they are going to follow different paths. He merely said they would run into each other again. Well, since we know Arya will return to Westeros, that's not really much of anything. She's likely going to run into a lot of people again, including her old friend Hot Pie, and a bunch of people she is going to kill. XD
And, here's the big kicker... It's not as if we're likely to get any more books anyways, no matter what he decides to write/add/change! So carry on unconcerned

HAH
(please excuse me, im dying of laughter over here)
Wanted to revive this thread since GOT tv series is fast approaching its end with only 2 seasons left (season 7 is halfway through its finale episode). I see the tv series as a watered down version of the ASOIAF books. Its a an enormous "ARRRRG" and a major piss-off most especially to fans following both the books and tv series. There are tons of cool stuffs left out and plots which where ignored and/or watered down/butchered at its finest:
1. The Dorne Plot (watered down/butchered). Where one of the greatest schemes in the playing of the game of thrones happen. Doran Martell wasn't the weak-assed Prince of Dorne as he was portrayed in the show. He still had the thirst for vengeance on the Lannisters who murdered her sister and her children thru' the hands of The Mountain, as much as how Oberyn was thirsting for it, but the ruling Prince of Dorne thinks his steps carefully and plans his scheme as subtle as it can look in the face of the realm. He still had that sharpness of the mind as expected from a leader of his house and a Prince to the land he governs despite his deteriorating physicality (his gout is taking toll on him making him unable to walk or even stand in his feet). As for the Doran's children only Trystanne was seen in the tv series, without the passionate and cunning heir to Sunspear and future Princess of Dorne, Arianne Martell and Quentyn Martell, Doran's eldest son. The two children of the ruling Prince of Dorne which were excluded in the tv series serves as vital pieces (along with Princess Myrcella and Trystanne Martell) to a possible Game of Thrones between the Martells and the Lannisters if permitted to be shown in the tv series. And the sandsnakes, there's 8 of them and even more deadly and dangerous since they had the Arianne's support in avenging Oberyn's death in the hands of The Mountain.
2. The Mummer's Dragon Plot (Ignored). Which centers on Young Griff aka Aegon VI Targaryen. I don't like the idea that the Golden Company will set foot on Westeros because fuckin' Euron Greyjoy brought them there (as provided by spoilers and leaks for S8 tho' not sure if its legit but still a leak). How would crazy uncle Greyjoy know about them anyway? As I have read about the Golden Company, they are an organized army of sellswords operating in Essos and is high priced if I'm not mistaken. Sellswords are payed in order for one to render their service. Euron and/or even Cersei doesn't have the money to pay this army of sellswords (remember that Dany burned down Cersei's loot thru' Drogon's dragonfire, King's Landing's treasury has been dried out to nothingness and the Iron Bank surely won't lend Cersei the money she needs since she can't pay her kingdom's debt) Unless, Young Griff was excluded in the tv series. Though I hate someone challenging Dany for the Iron Throne, but still The Golden Company was Young Griff's army, it was his all along.
3. The Faceless Man and the House of Black and White Plot (watered down/butchered). If Arya stayed with the Faceless Man longer in the tv series we would have witness its history, how it began, how was the Doom linked to its establishment in Braavos, who aided its pioneers and many more. I don't think that killing the waif was last lesson Jaqen H'gar would've thought Arya with if the plot wasn't cut on her going back home.
4. The sellswords of Essos. The only sellswords known in the tv series were The Second Sons and latter in season 8 (as stated by leaks) the Golden Company. I've seen in ASOIAF wiki that there is a company of sellsword in Essos known as the Company of the Rose which consists of exiled men and women of the north in Westeros possibly Starks who despised Torrhen Stark's decision in bending a knee to the Targaryens. I felt intrigued about this sellsword company since it involve exiled Starks tho' it wasn't thoroughly elaborated in the books.

Ohhhh someone has been Lore Diving. - I approve.
I had also come across mention of the Company of the Rose and found myself intriged. Though I have not, as if yet, figured out a possible plot in which to use them.
The Golden Company was actually started by Bittersteel, one of the Great Bastards, and half-brother of Blood Raven. the GC supported Blackfyre's claim to the throne, and fought in all the Blackfyre Rebellions (There were like four of them). In the books, they are loyal to Young Griff. Which lends itself to the theory that he is not Aegon VI, but a Blackfyre of the female line (Since the male line was wiped out, but the status of the female line is unknown)
You cant forget all of the sellsword companies that served Dany, that are missing from the Show.
It had crossed my mind sometimes what if Arya while staying in Essos crosses paths with the Company of the Rose. And also Rodrik Stark, the wandering wolf (If I'm not mistaken you added him as a character in Frosted Faith serving as one of Dany's soldiers) not sure if he's still alive and is still serving the second sons, suddenly meets his great grand daughter while in Essos if there is a possibility that he is still alive.
Yup also other sellswords serving Dany when she's in Mereen. We can't forget about them.
As much as I love Westeros, Essos needs some love.

Your thinking of Asher Forrester. Thats who I have in Frosted Faith. Hes from the Tall Tale game.
Although it would be interesting for Arya to accidentally come across that branch of her family. I'd like to assume that while they had left because they hadnt agreed with bending the knee 300 years ago. the members of the Rose are extremely honorable. So coming acrossed a Stark in exile, they would be compelled to take her in.

An honorable company of sellswords, that would be a new thing in Essos since conventional sellswords were loyal for people who could pay their price but who knows maybe the company of the rose requires payment before one can render their service.
As for Frosted Faith, I really looking forward for the next chapter. Tywin's POV, tho' its short, still is substantial and well-detailed. I love how Tywin contradicts his views on Tyrion being cunning and knowledgable on Westerosi politics and the Game of Thrones and at the same time hated him for taking Joanna's life the time he(Tyrion) was born. And also that suspicion on whether Tyrion was Aerys' bastard or not. There's too much paranoia going on in Tywin's head since he's so obssessed on his house's success and would be able to leave a long-term legacy for his descendants to constantly work for and be proud off.

Tywin is a surprisingly difficult character to get into the mind of for me. I do however think that as much as he hates Tyrion, and wishes him dead he has respect for him. I also think in a alt 'Verse, Tywin would have kept 'Arry' at his side, knowing full well who she was, but wanting to mold her.
Arya being a warg. Warging into a cat and stopping the the Kindly Man from swatting her with stick.
Arienne Martell to show that Dorne have women who rule.
Strong Belwas (just cause)
