Out of curiosity - was I the only one who noticed that Jon actually seemed angry at receiving word that Bran and Arya were both alive? One could say he was angry at being misinformed for so long, but he still had Plenty Of Hugs to share when he was reunited with Sansa (who had treated him like shit from the start). Now that he's KITN methinks he's more concerned about his own status. After all, Bran would be the true Lord of Winterfell now, and Jon has no idea he has turned into a creepy Molesticator Memory robot who wants nothing to do with ruling (or any human activity whatsoever)..
Even Dany was trying to indicate that he should be pleased with the news in offering her wooden 'I'm happy for you'.
One could also say he was upset at hearing about the progress the army of the dead had made, but really, it was all shit he already knew anyways.

Great misery is right. My hand cramped and still is stiff. But then the word count for this double feature is on part with my longest FF chapters and write in a fraction of the time. So it's understandable.

Can I just say that I'm really loving Varys this season? And his interaction with Tyrion in that scene was great. Mock Offence "It is a sealed letter for the King in the North" -Wine Sip- "So what did it say?" Dramatic sigh "Nothing anything good"

You know what bothers me the most about Jon being KITN?. Lyanna could have entrusted the care of her newborn to Ser Auther Dyane, and the other Kingsguard, who would have spirited Jon away across the Narrow Seas, likely to join his Aunt and Uncle, or to be raised separately for safety reasons (No need to put all dragon eggs in one basket as it were) until he was of age to reclaim the Iron Throne if she had wanted him to be King.
But she didnt, she entrusted Jon's care, his safety, welling, health and happiness to her brother Ned. Wanted him to grow up away from Kingslanding, away from the Iron Throne, his birthright, and all the pain and suffering. She rather he grow up a bastard stark then a trueborn targaryren. I do not think she wanted him to be king. I'd like to think this wasnt just a sister's blind trust and faith in her brother. Or a mothers dying wish for her son. It was Lyanna's last act of defiance. (because if Lyanna and Arya really are anything alike, even just a little. I'd think she would have been defiant even to the end)
But Jon is an idiot, who knows nothing, and here he is, wearing the hat of a king, and fucking even that up.
Gods, I know, Zero evidence of any bond between Arya and Jon. His reaction wasnt even torn between joy for the fact they are alive, and home, and worry about his claim on the winter throne with yet two more trueborn children Stark children at Winterfell. It was just straight up anger and displeasure over the news of his younger half siblings survival.
Vexing yes. But understandable. Arya is still viewing Sansa through the lense of their first season relationship I think. Shes still seeing Sansa as that same little girl, who stood infront of King Robert, and Queen Cersei and lied because she wanted nice things and to marry the golden haired prince and be Queen. I think, in a dark corner of Arya's heart, she blames Sansa for the events that lead to their fathers death, and the war, and the deaths of their mother and brother. Its not fair of her to do so. But I feel like thats whats going on.
And Sansa isnt helping matters. Because shes still seeing Arya through that same type of lense. though maybe with a bit more double vision overlap. Shes still seeing Arya Horseface/Arya Underfoot. She looks at Arya with her hair and her pants and her sword and sees the scrappy skinny girl that chased cats for gods sake. And on the other hand, she does kinda see Arya, this able swordswoman, and I think some how Arya's ability to fight actually just further widens the gulf there.
Both sisters should be talking. Sansa needs to let Arya into her mind, and understand that Arya survived in the wartorn Riverlands as a little girl basically on her own, but her wits and cleverness and cunning. This is a girl that served as Tywin Lannisters cupbarer for months I imagine. and in the end, when she thought all her family was dead she did more then just kill the girl and let the woman be born as Sansa had. She killed a huge chunk of who she is and was to become No One.
There might be a silver lining in the clouds. Maybe. I'm squinting, because it could just be a lightning bolt ready to zap me in the bloody eye...
I need a bit more info before I'll say much, but, what if maybe we got thrown a bone in S8 from an unexpected angle? Which unexpected angle? Well, maybe Dany's returned to Dragonstone with minimal forces because most of the troops are trying to hold the mainland against the dead with Jon & Co, and the Golden Company has arrived.. and Cersei decides to send them to Dragonstone, with orders to bring Dany directly to her in King's Landing.
Which is exactly where another pair of characters we both know are headed...

But on the off chance that what you are saying does happen. I'm gonna guess that Arya will be wearing a different face, and once again Jon will get credit when Arya is the one that will rescue Dany.
