You do know that would also play into the Targaryan Madness if you do play with that idea.  Because they would know that Jon died and yet here he is walking around.

Not nessassarly. 

So picture this. its the final battle, its absolute chaos, within and without the walls of Winterfell. People are falling left and right. In the confusion of snow, and death and dragonsfire, everyone looses track of Jon. Because Jon, like an idiot has gone after the Night King alone. - OR so he thinks. 

He finds the Night King in the God's Wood. already locked in battle with Arya who has Oath Keeper in one hand, (For Brienne has already fallen in battle) and the Dragon Dagger in the other, who has placed herself between the Night King and Dany - who isnt doing great, perhaps a blow to the head (Because lets be honest, the Night King is gonna want the child in her womb) 

Jon joins the fight. but because hes been distracted since the whole "You are a Targaryen,  not a Stark" reveal. and possibly knowing that Dany is carrying his child the only reason why hes even doing well is because Arya is there to pick up his slack. 
But the Night King cant be beat, even under the combind force of Arya and Jon and three VS blades. Just as hope seems loss, here comes the Drogon. In a desperate bid, Jon tackles the Night King, as Arya pulls the half concious Dany behind the God Tree, shouting "Dracarys". Jon and the Night King are caught in the blast of dragonfire, while both Dany and Arya are shielded by the God Tree. 

When the flames die, and the god tree and most of the wood is not by ash and charr, we find nothing left of either the Night King, or Jon but for Long Claw which laid on bare baked earth. Targaryen he may have been, but the blood of the dragon wasnt as strong in him as the blood of the wolf. 

Edit: Alternatively, when the flames die, we find Jon, badly injured, mortally so, but still alive, because 'blood of the dragon'. Arya rushes to his side, because damnit, he is still her brother, even if hes actually her cousin, it doesnt matter. Arya clenches one hand even as Dany reaches for his other. Gasping he begs, he pleads, and like Eddard to Lyanna, Arya promises, and swears upon her honor. (I actually like this idea better. I love paralles. )

Either way.....

With the death of the Night King, the rest of the White Walkers turn to ice and shatter, the battle, and war is won. The camera pans over the battle field, the allied forces cheering, as the sun breaks through the cloud cover. 

Jon and Dany walk out of the ruined Gods Wood, out of Winterfell and into the court yard where the cheering forces go nuts to see both the King in the North, and the Targaryen Queen alive. 

The tale that is told is that it was Arya who had tackled the Night King, forcing him back as she cried out the high valyrian command for Drogon to rain fire upon the God's Wood. It is she that sacrificed herself to end the Long Night. The She Wolf is raised a hero, the last hero, the prince who was promised, much to the confusion of those who had known the prophecy. 

Some time later, much in fact, after Jon, now known as Jaehaerys Targaryen III (Because I'm not accepting that his name is Aegon), is married to his aunt Queen Daenerys I, and they are both crowned King and Queen, and shortly after Dany gives birth to a daughter. (because fuck it) 

Where it goes from here, well...
