So, reviving this fun little thread, 'cause I can.
I am now fully convinced that Arya will kill Cersei using Jaime's face. I believe this will happen near the end of the series - Cersei will remain alive through season 7. Now, I do not believe that Arya will kill Jaime herself, but his story was always destined to end in tragedy after some form of redemption, and, well, she won't let such a useful face go to waste. Arya's proven herself to be very... practical, in that regard.
The cold opening for ep one, where the showrunners made a point of depicting the exaggerated FM's abilities to include gender change and full physical adjustment (see dat height she gained?) was not just to serve up some epic vengeance. That was purposefully setting a precedent for something far more impactful to the storyline Arya will pull off later.
We have to remember that since we are entirely off script now, the show has the subtlety of a hammer in glass house.
I don't think the books will go this same route (unless GRRM breaks his own canon some more and decides to enhance known FM abilities further on a whim, which he could, because he's already botched it before).. but the show will do it.
Also, the 'Prince or Princess that Was Promised' prophecy that was very blatantly pointed out.. Methinks it's actually 'The Prince AND Princess That Were Promised' prophecy. Because prophecy is a tricky thing, and I can see D&D believing themselves to be oh so clever with such an obvious twist.. -_-;;
Honestly. as epic as Arya killing Cersei using Jamie's face would be...
What I want to see is this.
Dany sweeping into the throne room of the Red Keep. Her forces had taken the city, and soon they will have total control over the Red Keep as well. But she feels she should see that justice is done herself, if not by her own hand, then at least she should bear witness to it.
And when she sweeps into the throne room... Her eyes are not drawn to the Iron Throne, but to the blonde woman who lays crumpled before it, a pool of blood spreading across the marble floor below her as she lays with her head in her twin brother's lap who is achingly stoic but for the tears strains on his face. She should appear asleep, but for the fact she had been run through the stomach.
Beside her twin, in his battered armor, and tattered white cloak is a bloodied valariyan sword, that was once Ice, but had been called Widows Wail.
Bringing Jamie full circle, AND fufilling that prophecy
So. Speaking of Arya and the shows more extensive FM shifting....
Arya kills littlefinger. Doesnt matter the situation. Rather Sansa ask, or she decides he needs to die on her own because hes a fucking creep lusting after her sister...
But Arya kills him. And because Starky has ruined me and now I do sometimes enjoy twisted irony... Arya kills him wearing the face of her mother.
Not sure if this really counts as me laying the odds snice I highly doubt they'd do this in the show seeing how they totally ignored the Faceless Men - Doom of Valaria - Alchemist and/or Maester connections....
But you know Cersei's "Bloody Maester" who now serves as her master of whispers?
If this was the books. Id put money on him being a faceless man or somehow connected to whatever sect may or may not have aided the faceless men in bringing about The Doom.
