Please call me Stoic. I just spent the past week viciously reading every Dany X Arya story I could get my hands on. Not the first week I spent doing this. I’m not really a GoT fan, haven’t watched since first season and never read the books. Something about this pairing really gets into my imagination. I watched a video or two on the theory that Starks have White Walkers in their history and that the series ends with a treaty with the White Walkers. Got me thinking that maybe Winter is Coming for a ‘bride of ice’ now that there is also a ‘bride of fire’. Then my thoughts went to what if the Walkers try to turn Arya into their princess. Normally who falls to the White rises for it, their very self scraped away by cold and wind. Normally the White does not turn someone who has been No One. Turns out a someone who has been No One knows how to hold onto the bare sliver of self, that smallest bit of her. Which is all a Wolf needs. So Arya, who was once No One, doesn’t not become the Night Queen. She remains Arya. Only the war needs ended somehow. During the last Long Night it was marriage that brought peace. So once more does marriage bring peace as the bride of Ice becomes the bride of Fire (and vice versa).
’Twas at this point I realized I was doomed to spend the next week reading all the Danarya stories I could get my greedy little paws on. How did y’all get on this road?
