Hello hello, friends, mind if I join you? Good General! Good morning to you - kick up a stool, and yes, coffee is fine. So long as you don't mind it spiked with some Baileys. You deserve some Irish Coffee, demmit!
Can't say having such a small fanfiction archive is good, or having next to little fanart for the pairing is great either, but I'm here mostly for the community now. Better enjoy it while it lasts, I always say. I'm glad to have met you folks in the end.
One thing I can say about this wee fandom - the community is -spectacular-. As a writer, you can't ask for better readers, and as part of a fandom, you can't ask for better people to stand beside you. Seriously, a very loyal, creative bunch.
Even the shy ones! Well, to be fair, lord knows I used to be one just like those lurkering bunch.
How's it going guys? For me it's business as usual. Trying to get drunk before work comes back to bite me in the ass. I don't even wanna think about it >_>
Won't need anything much, since it's the beginning of another day, so a cup of coffee will do~
*sits down*
Well I won't say I'm a veteran when it comes to searching for Stargaryen fanfiction xD but boy am I glad to be part of another crack pairing ship, it's been a while. I actually really missed being part of one! -Holds up beer in a salute- To crackships, our fanfics may be few, but our communities is strong!
I do imagine though that if they ever get Arya and Dany to meet, (which lets face it, has to happen since Arya is the only other member of a major house on that side of the Narrow Sea besides Tyrion, and Dany herself. ) that our ship will grow massively. If only because I cant see the two characters not having great chemistry together. More so in the books, were Arya's character is much more developed, though also younger.
Although I'm a little sad that unlike the books, they are rushing it and totally skipping over her exploration of her warg powers.
YES! The rushing is killing me. I'm finding it extremely hard to keep track of how much time is actually passing this season, because it really feels extremely rushed in almost every plotline. I know you can't go into every detail with the TV show... but as a viewer, I SHOULD have some sense of whether or not days, weeks, or months have passed between scenes!
Also, fuck all of the Direwolf killing. I'm seriously praying for poor Nymeria and Ghost at this point. ...Mostly Ghost. Nymeria is so badass she don't need my prayers, or anyone else's XD
And I'm vexed that the FM/Dany connection (subtle and clever as it was) has been completely obliterated by HBO. That is our OTPs foundation, dammit!
Agreed, this season does seem rushed all around, and the time frame of things seems very much jumbled.
Thankfully, this fandom, and this ship has always been really good at blending the different canons, books and show, and even the games. - Or at least the Tall Tale Game, not that horrible trash of a rpg where you're a black brother. - into a single seemless canon and history.
Or in your case Starky, taking the lack of info or detail and shooting for the stars.

..The more shots you have, the less you worry about work.
That is how I survive sometimes, sad as it sounds >_<

And a big hell yes here! Though, I really think we're NOT a crackship, we are just a Ship Before It's Time - because:

This.
Lack of convergence has been our enemy - but that -will- come to an end. And the INSTANT it does, we will be here, waitin with open arms.
Speak for yourself, I'm gonna be sipping my whiskey as I sit here, watching the new blood roll in, with their new fics and their new art. and just be like "Oh sweet summer child."

I do wish I have your guys' optimism! I don't think there's any chance of them being canon, remaining as the 'extra' ship forever, even if we get more in our ranks...
Canon? No, they will likely never be canon, this is known.
But is the given of all femslash ships to be fair. we never actually expect our ships to become canon. We just hope one half doesnt die.
Speaking of canon ships, Did anyone else read about Sansa's actress totally open to the idea of Sansa having a lady love? Even giving a ballsy suggestive thought of how she'd be chill if it was Arya? The overies on that woman. xD

LMAO!!! Revanstar - our very own Old Nan.
I reserve the right to call any one who comes aboard the ship after the two characters meet, a "sweet summer child" as they would be entering the ship at such a time were they have never known the desolate winter that was Stargaryen fandom

Seriously, when it comes to our fandom, we are like poor people living through the depression. We make use of every bloody scrap we've got! XD
Or in your case Starky, taking the lack of info or detail and shooting for the stars.
Oh, and such stars there -were-! Which people either would have loved or hated, depending on how much they needed to be 'on the grid' with GRRMs 'known' work... They may have ended up very cranky.

Yes! and I was left like.. For Posterity:
One day we will see a fic someone writes where Sansa/Dany are fighting over Arya, based on this little clip. XD

I think its less we are living in a depression, and more blending both canons because there are mark differences between them. The books are a great deal richer in content then the show, but the show has some amazing Gems, and makes all the characters older there for its less cringe worthy when characters fall into bed together.
On a whole, I always loved your spin on canon. And the way you take the lack of info and turn Essos into this living, breathing place. - Haters gonna hate and all that.
lol. Yaaaa... You know, I can accept Sansa/Jon... but not Sansa/Arya. I mean, they might not have been close as sisters, and canonly, they've been apart for years, and where seperated when they were both fairly young. (Arya was what? 11 and Sansa 13 when they last saw eachother?. And if you wanted to be realistic with time passage, Arya would likely be 13-14 by the end of book 5, having kicked it around the Riverlands for a long ass time. And realistically, she'll likely be 16+ by the time she actually returns across the Narrow Sea after escaping the FM. So again, realistically 5+ years would pass. They'd be strangers. But even still. even still... )

Oh, this is -so true-. AgingUp! HBO style actually HAS become canon for me, for this very reason (along with the fact that even when I first read the books, I had a hard time believing children so young had such 'mature' thoughts - I mean fuck. Bran was only -8- )

I heart you, Revan. Really, I saw the skeletal outlines of so much cool stuff in Essos... and GRRM just essentially ignored it. I get it; his books were packed enough.. but damn. Piecing together some of the epic stuff across the Narrow Sea literally made me stop caring about Westeros at all. And, won't lie - got me seriously thinking about Original Fiction after I'd come up with things to fill in the gaps...
lol. Yaaaa... You know, I can accept Sansa/Jon... but not Sansa/Arya.
I do agree. And.. HBO really may go the Jon/Sansa route in the end (last novel in GRRMs original outline was titled 'A Time for Wolves'). But Sansa/Arya? I think just having them make some sort of peace between each other is about as far as that would get. If Sansa craves a 'true knight', she has Brienne. If she wants a 'best friend with benefits', she has Margaery.
Scruffy, predatory Assassin!Arya shall only be tamed by Dany. It is known.
...Sophie does have guts, though. I really do give her that.
Welcome~ This forum is a place for all Dany x Arya shippers to meet up and discuss the world, the lore, and the wonderful characters who make this ship! Have fun, everyone!
