Okay, so we all know theres some terrible terrible Stargaryen fics out there. And many are mislabled. And I assume most of us have been around the fanfic block a time or two, and have read things that we wouldnt admit to devil that we enjoyed.
However, I recall a few fics, before you came about Starky with your inspirational story, that were just... bad. And... -shudders, before taking a long pull of her beer-
I think the worse ones I've read are things like Underage shifting G!PeenArya fucks Dany as a wolf. Or something like that. Thankfully I dont think the story exists any more. The writing was okay, but the contents...

I remember when I first started posting Allegiance, there was only like.. 15 or so Arya/Dany fics on A03 (and oh, how When the Sun Rises in the East shone like a beacon and won my heart!) and.. I will admit, I read every single one of them. I can't say I made it all the way THROUGH each of them, though, because there were times I was left literally cringing in my chair.
So I don't have any good comparable war stories.. but I CAN tell you about Desperate Times.
Desperate Times was when I was dead-set determined to find -anything- Stargaryen/Danarya out there. And I spent a few days scouring the world wide intarwebz, finding very little. But I did actually find one or two foreign language fics, which I had ol' Google translate and did my best to make sense of since the pronouns were all jacked up and it was not exactly a quality translation. And sometimes I even translated text on foreign language webpages, just in the hopes of a MENTION of Dany/Arya.
I actually love that tumblr update Tony & Issa put up about just being excited to find a fanfic for a rare pairing in English. That speaks directly TO MY SOUL.
Oh gods, yes! Finding a rare pairing fic in english and not giving a damn about content because its in english.
I think most of us went through desperate times. But then you and Munky came along and it was like the sun rose, and the clouds parted, and spring had come in our land of eternal winter.
But seriously, I've read some of the most depraved stories for Danarya just because it was my OTP and there was so little. Which is why I'm so willing to poke at the new stuff and see if its a gem, or muck.
I do have to say that looking at where the fandom is now, compared to where it was during Desperate Times - it is like a magical haven of Joy and Candies Raining from the Sky.
And Frosted Faith has been absolutely contributing to that. I was very happy to hear that one day after the evil semester is finished you wil be returning to the cruel land of Westeros to continue that epic! 'Cause that will actually be fun creative writing.

Oh dont you worry. with the new season of game of thrones, I'm getting new ideas. And with the existance of this wonderful place, I'll have a space to bounce those idea off of others without clogging up the comment section of fics.

Hey, the 'Revan Effect' was always pretty damn fun But, I do have to say this place is great, and I think it'll end up being a bastion of creative inspiration.
Have to admit the next few eps of GoT have me very intrigued. They will either do something -awesome- with Arya's storyline, or bungle it entirely... I am very much hoping for the former.
Also, a bit of excellent entertainment on offer!

Lets be honest, we all knew she was going to leave the FM eventually. Although I'm a little sad that unlike the books, they are rushing it and totally skipping over her exploration of her warg powers. She didnt actually get her sight back in the books until after she started using the eyes of the cats around her to see while the waif was attacking her.

Well I won't say I'm a veteran when it comes to searching for Stargaryen fanfiction xD but boy am I glad to be part of another crack pairing ship, it's been a while. I actually really missed being part of one! Can't say having such a small fanfiction archive is good, or having next to little fanart for the pairing is great either, but I'm here mostly for the community now. Better enjoy it while it lasts, I always say. I'm glad to have met you folks in the end.

YES! The rushing is killing me. I'm finding it extremely hard to keep track of how much time is actually passing this season, because it really feels extremely rushed in almost every plotline. I know you can't go into every detail with the TV show... but as a viewer, I SHOULD have some sense of whether or not days, weeks, or months have passed between scenes!
Also, fuck all of the Direwolf killing. I'm seriously praying for poor Nymeria and Ghost at this point. ...Mostly Ghost. Nymeria is so badass she don't need my prayers, or anyone else's XD
And I'm vexed that the FM/Dany connection (subtle and clever as it was) has been completely obliterated by HBO. That is our OTPs foundation, dammit!
