My primary external hard drive gave up the ghost last night...*cue internal screaming*
This is my absolute greatest fear on any backup device, internal, external, primary, secondary, anything. If it was external, could it possibly be the housing that failed and you could you rip out the drive itself and hook it up to a desktop motherboard or an eSATA cable on a laptop and see if you can access the files?

I've had externals start working again so I'm going to put it away for a few days first and try again. I'm 99% sure that I'll be able to recover the files. I refuse to believe otherwise, I have 2TB of videos on there.

I wish it was just adulting keeping me away, though. Worse than any wight attack is Getting Sick North of the Wall - holy hell. I felt like I was getting better over the weekend, but nope - recovery fakeout. It's like a standard cold nowadays is frickin' engineered for complete destruction. @_@
But yes, contest entries. I hope people are working on them. They're like healing muffins for the soul.

I still remember the two weeks I spent either in a drug induced coma or drug induce haze when I had like 70% of the symptoms of H1N1 the CDC said to seek medical attention for asap... and not going to the doctors because I had no insurance.
I have been in a house with two people with bronchitis that started as the flu. By some blessing of the Old Gods I did not get sick except a sore thraot for a couple days. But my allergies have decided that I need to take allergy pills everyday or they will fuck with my ears. I am working as much as possible before I head off for my next semester but I will have a three day period of nothing but fic writing before the first day of school to look forward to.

Working on them while being some kind of responsible adult mostly helming a lighting crew for the singular most fucked up jobsite I have ever had the misfortune of setting foot on.
And they want to turn 277volt lighting circuits on tomorrow...
It makes me want to drink, heavily, or start toking on a vape pen in the evenings now that ye old cannabis is legal.
