Like. between the leaks of the plot of the rest of S7 and now the leaks for the first two eps of S8, I'm over here like fuming cause this could be the thing that kills our little fandom for good.
And that just fucking pisses me off.
>( I refuse. To the god of death I say NOT TODAY MOTHER FUCKER
So if I gotta hammer out a fix it one or two shot I shall do so.
I am getting my pom-poms and cheerleading uniform ready, to cheer you on. Anyone up for the top of the pyramid?
I got like six fucking plot bunnies in my head and none of them are FF related. xD
Your right. There was enough story in the first 5 books to go at least 10 seasons. More since GOT had short seasons already
Or they could have done a season in the Summer 10 episodes that followed what was going on in Westeros while a 10 episode season in the Winter months of what happened in Essos. For the first book, the second and third books would have been similar or even broken up more into 3 6 episodes seasons covering Kingslanding, Essos, and Riverlands(Robbs and Arya's story arcs) Back to two seasons a year with Arya in Essos, with Dany and Young Griff, while we hit the action in Kingslanding and the Wall. And so on.
I think if they had done more normal length seasons. (20-ish eps, so double the length of past GOT seasons) they could have done 2 seasons per book. So every book would have been about 40+ eps. That would have given plenty of room for the larger plots and character arcs while still leaving room for creativity/originality like the Arya/Tywin interactions.
That would have given them ten seasons before they ran out of books to pouch from. Yeah, it might have been a little hard at first with many of the actors growing up and being older then what the characters are. But you can easily work that in by taking into consideration how long it takes to travel from place to place. Basically work in that concept of the 5 year gap, without having to do a 5 year gap.

The reasons why they have been sloppy in all of this have become obvious to me the moment that Loras Tyrell was introduced. From that moment on it went downhill from there. The culmination was Dorne and the nail in the coffin was the 'Bad pussy' line, UGH.
After their announcement of their of their new show, at San Diego ComiCon this summer, 'The Confederate' it all became clear that they were leveraging themselves for their own creation for a while.
Of course they are the PERFECT people to helm a show about the nuances of race relations in the U.S. They are such adept and intelligent writers, it is SO OBVIOUS.
No Lady Stoneheart, Dorne was a crap salad (no Arienne Martell was a red flag), let's not even start with the 'White Wedding' (that is what they called it) between Sansa and Ramsey. I could go on and on but I don''t want to get myself riled up more than necessary.
They whined they were 'exhausted' because the production was so difficult and arduous (my thought is handed off to someone else who wasn't 'exhausted'), but not too 'exhausted' to work on their new show.
My final conclusion is they just wanted to get their new show off the ground and say 'fuck it' the masses just want tits, dragons, and spectacle.
Can any one guess which parts of my babbling was sarcasm?

There was an aspect of your words that wasnt dripping in sarcasm???
Honestly I never did care about the Brotherhood without Banners, and Lady Stoneheart
lol, yes, because two white guys writing a show about slavery can *never* be a bad thing.
Thissssss.... I'm gonna cry right now. Arya, besides Dany's awesomeness, regal aura/presence and conqueror mentality, you're badassness and faceless manness is the only reason why I watch the series even tho' HBO and D&D fucked up bigtime by not letting you and Dany be the real thing or even just meet and/or have a heart to heart talk about what you both missed in Essos.
You know Phanta, one thing I have noticed and appreciate this season is that there is a true sense of Arya being a 'grown up' now. This is the first time I can sit and watch the program, and not just see a medieval version of a child soldier on the screen. Between Maisie aging up, and the absolute rush to the finish line the show is pushing for, Arya is finally being depicted with the confidence and competency we all knew was laying in wait.
It doesn't feel like there is a massive age difference between her and Dany anymore, either.
Small diamonds in the rough, but we take what we can get.

Id like to point out that according to the show wiki Arya is 17 and Dany is 22 I'm season 7. And in this world, Arya is def an adult, add into that her experiences the age gap seems much smaller then it actually is

I re-read my post, and you caught me sarcasm abounds.

That was the ONLY reason I decided to even Touch the HBO canon, because WoW Arya is what, 13? and Dany is...16? Suuuuuuuure...
Be the change you want to see in the world.
Because if that's the line that reeled in Starky, someone else could be out there too, waiting for the courage to step forward and share their thoughts and talents. We're really not as scary as you might think

I think Arya is 9 Book 1, but idk, I think 11/12 S1
Its not a huge age up. But when you think of each book/season = 1 year... it can make a difference.

You're right, 9 during the start of GoT (book) So, all these books are Supposedly happening across the span of 2 years.
Which means the greatest assassin Westeros can hope for is...11? 17 it is!

Them being young in the books then being thrown to tons of their fair share of shit then surviving to it seems too much hyperbole to me. Yes it is fiction, all about magic, mythical creatures and stuff but characters that young could've died that easy. It's hard to imagine an 8-10 yr old Arya being able to survive the training the faceless men prepares for their disciples for. It might be an instant trip to the Many-Faced Gods realm if they don't have the strength and endurance to do so. That young body that she had, she'll have a hard time withstanding the beatings she could get from the waif, she could die from it in an instant how much more with Jaqen training her on poisons and its antidotes. And as for Dany, she's been married of to a Khal at age 13 in the books(?) She had a miscarriage on her stillborn son to Khal Drogo, it could kill her. It will be hard for a pregnant teen to carry a baby for 9 months in her womb. Delivering the baby would be excruciatingly painful since her body is still not ready to bear a child, how much more with her having a miscarriage; it could kill not only the baby but also Dany herself.
Guess the purpose of tv series is not only to bring the characters to life but also to tone down the books (maybe a little).
(But HBO and D&D tone down the books too much that they left the awesomest parts of it and that pisses me off)
Welcome~ This forum is a place for all Dany x Arya shippers to meet up and discuss the world, the lore, and the wonderful characters who make this ship! Have fun, everyone!
