Shipping within GOT/ASOIAF can get a little crazy. With so many characters within the universe, its understandable that we fans may have more then one ship. Nor, given the nature of universe's 'Anyone can die' trope, is it surprising that we have more then one ship for any given character.
Ships outside of Danarya get brought up often in other discussions in other threads here in the House. And thankfully, unlike some parts of some fandoms, we arnt a ship which will turn on you for multishiping within the 'verse. (There are ships that are like that. Insane I know)
Now, obviously, everyone here ships Daenerys and Arya. - At least I assume so, I mean some of you lurkers might be Dany/Jon fans, and you come here... because we are a awesome crazy bunch of people. Idk. - But I'm gonna work on the assumtion that everyone here ships Dany/Arya at the very least.
What I want to know is who else do you ship? Is the ship just in genreal, or is it exclusive to show or book canon? What do you like about that ship. What was the moment you started shipping those two+ (Because we wont dismiss our polymorus, triads or open relationship shipping brothers and sisters) characters? You can list as many or as few of your ships as you want at any given time. Since often, its not uncommon for ships to change outside of your OTP.
I'll start.
Brienne/Tormund. xD because fuck you HBO for making me ship this. The first moment Tormund sees Brienne as she rides through the gates I had thrown my hands up and was like "Fuck, I shipit"
I think the best part about these two is just how flatfooded and also annoyed yet confused Brienne is over Tormunds obvious attraction to her. Plus, - and forgive me, I'm not sure how to word this right- I think it pokes fun at the concepts of masculinity/femininity and what is consider 'desirable' or beautiful.
And its amazing, because heres Tormund who is attracted to Brienne because shes tall, and strong, and an able fighter. Not because shes a classic beauty by Westerosi standards (Shes not, in the books shes much more derpy and plain looking. 'Brienne the Beauty' is an mocking insult.) And just how.. flat-fooded Brienne is about it all is great. Really I ship it. I ship it so hard.
Sansa/Margaery: This is a ship that totally evolved and has changed for me over the years. These days I ship it in a past-tense. And not just because Margaery died either. But because Sansa has changed so much since she left King's Landing. As far as a past-tense ship. I like to imagine that Sansa found great comfort in Margaery, but it never moved beyond 'almost-lovers' as Sansa in the capital I think clinged to the one thing she still had of value as far as the game of thrones went. Her virtue (gag) - As for when I started shipping it. I cant say what scene in the show or books it was. It was kind of a slow burn, behind the scenes, friends-to-almost lovers thing for me.
Sansa/Jon: Fuck you HBO, this is not a ship I should be shipping. Because of its near-cest status. But nooo. S6 reunited these two and what has been seen can not be unseen. After all the fucked up shit Sansa has been through, Jon had ended up being one of the few men I can ship her with. And honestly, I think Sansa is just fucked up enough by it all that she'd at least consider it, because the Game of Thrones would have def twisted her, and what better way to ensure her bastard halfbrother / cousin who is now King of the North protects her from the likes of the Lannisters and Little-Finger then taking him into her bed. and Jon? Well, Jon always did have a thing for red-heads. - And in a sense of twisted irony, I ship these two the way some people ship Arya/Gendry, because fuck me if they dont look liked Eddard and Catelyn come again now that they are both in Winterfell, the way some people swear Arya and Gendry look like Lyanna and Robert come again. [disgusted noise]
And there we go, some of my other ships that I ship. What are yours?
