Its just a struggle cause we are such a small ship. So the lack of activity is more noticeable.

You know... I never thought about it that way, but I think you're right. 

I've been lucky enough to avoid the more toxic aspects of fandom on tumblr and Ao3. (Other then people not properly using their fucking rags. Name/Name is for relationships or sex. Name&Name is friendship. fuckers. And people not properly tagging G!Peen) So I have never personally seen any vitriol spewed towards our ship. 

But it wouldnt surprise me if other ships sneered at our own. 

Which is amusing when you consider we are one of the oldest fanships. - And by fanships I mean ships that launched before the characters met, or any relationship was established in canon. This is partly due the the fact I think the majority of our house are people who read the books before the show. And saw an Arya obsessed with Dragons and the first Targaryan Queens. Saw the connection between Old Valaria and the House of Black and White,  Saw how much Arya and Dany had in common and we ran with it. Long before any self indulgent fangirls thought to pair Jon with Dany. (by self indulgent fangirls, I mean the ones who tend to use a lady character as a vessel for their own desires and lust of a actor or male character. -- Lord knows the fangirls swoon for Jon Snow) 

True facts. Preaching to the choir here.

The Farm Boy trope is rather over used and def reeks of the patriarchy. Literally perhaps one of the oldest. And Game of thrones uses other tropes within this trope, such as the "Women in the Fridge" trope. When Jon saw Ygritte killed during the battle of Castle Black.

To say nothing of the other rather disgusting tropes used by the show, usually for shock value.

Theres more character development for the other characters, Dany, Arya, Sansa, ect in the books then there was in the show. And the sad fact is, with only... what? 7eps this season? any hope for character development is shot.

If @starky was here, she could tell you how I feel about bad G!Peen stories in our fandom, and tell you how much this pains me to say. However; I have seen better character development in the most trashy of smut filled G!Peen Danarya fics then there has been in several season of GOT.

I suppose thats why so many of us write fanfiction. To fix this bullshit.

Pretty much. Its basically a bunch of semi connected oneshots then a actual fucking epic.

At least thats how it feels to me. As Starky once said. TV Fanfiction. And badly written at that. (Though, I have seen worse tbh. Its still pretty fucking bad)
