Books with Queer Gender Bending Female Protagonists!

I am perhaps not alone in feeling the total and utter abandonment given to us by both GRRM and HBO.
I suppose the solution should be to find a new fandom, the problem is:
There are no lists (or at least not ones that are easily found) of fantasy books with strong, queer, crossdressing female protagonists.
I seriously spent an entire week looking through book lists, because besides stumbling on the short haired, pants wearing Vin (who is unfortunately kinda straight) from Mistborn by total accident, I had no idea how to find them.
Lately one has turned up (that Starky and I are about halfway through) by Django Wexler called The Thousand Names (Book One of the Shadow Campaigns), and it is at least a 4 book series. Winter, the secondary split POV protagonist, only has to share "screen" time with one other person, and the split is nearly 50/50 by Part 3 of Book 1.
The writing is good, and Winter is queer, dressed as a man, and damned resourceful in a crisis.
The only caveat is that it is Flintlock Fantasy, and some folks may not like gunpowder in their fantasy novels.
I didn't, but this book has absolutely changed my mind.
Does anyone else know of a fantasy book or series that features queer ladies in drag playing a major role?
I would love to hear about them, I don't want to accept that The Thousand Names is a fluke in the entirety of the fantasy genre.
Hell, does anyone know of similar characteristics in a sci fi hero?
Edit: Goodreads figured out the drag, but I'm still not sure about the gay or the character's importance.
