There are to many flavors of nastyness I don’t read to name them all.
“I’m not a Lady, I’m a Wolf!” "He who fights with monsters should be careful lest he thereby become a monster. And if thou gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will also gaze into thee." The tormentor becomes the tormented. People become what they love and hate, because their mind focuses on it."

Didnt I already name them all tho?
Just for GoT and ASOIAF. I am including every Fandom out there in the world.

I can guess what pairing everyone here really enjoys. But is there a pairing you actively avoid reading, or outright can't stand?
I avoid Arya/Gendry.
There is a very prominent characterization of Gendry that really irritates me. Gendry will often be depicted as being in love with Arya for many of the years she is away from Westeros, never letting her stray far from his thoughts. I'm sure the writers think it's romantic... Even if you ignore the ages of Arya and Gendry. Approximately 10 and 16 when they last saw each other. It just doesn't mesh with what little we do know of Gendry after they parted ways.
Gendry takes part in running an orphanage in that Inn at the crossroads, looking after children not too far off from Arya's age from their last meeting.
"I can be your family." "You wouldn't be my family. You'd be my lady."
I'd wager he regrets his rash response and wants to help other children who are in need of a family. Arya might be the center of that, but it's not romantic in nature.
I wouldn't be adverse to reading a fic that's well done and explores his character beyond 'bastard of Robert Baratheon' and 'loves Arya.' But I find myself giving up after 15 seconds of reading summaries.
Come to the official thread to rant about your pet peeve pairings. If it bothers you, it will probably bother someone else.
I concur. This pairing (or more appropriately how people seemed determined to treat it) really bothers me. I think it’s because in my mind Gendry could be such an awesome bro and/or his own fucking person. Like, don’t get me wrong, Arya totes deserves to be worshipped. I’m just a fan of not every single male/female relationship needing to involve romantic love.
My 'ship/pairing to void is well Jon with ANY of the following, Dany (of course), Arya, and/or Sansa for the love of the Gods all four of them are related! By blood. Hell Jon with just about anyone really - GoT Jon annoys me a lot book Jon not so much.
Huh, until you actually listed it all out I failed to realize that those there pairings are all blood related to Jon.
Sansa/Tyrion except as a power couple/brotp sort of partners thing were they are both free to have their own lovers Sansa/Joffery Sansa/Cersei Sansa/Jamie Sansa/Ramsay Sansa/Tywin Sansa/Baelish Sansa/Hound Sansa/Fake Aegon Sansa/Creepy old dudes and/or abusive fucks Sansa/Male Relation
Arya/Sansa
Dany/Jon Dany/Jorah Dany/Darrio Dany/A Stark that is not Arya Dany/Fake Aegon Dany/Basically anyone who is not Arya tbh
Look. I have been deep. *DEEP* into the murky depths and have found some pretty creepy ass ships. So I have seen some things. Things that would make your eyes bleed
Snerk. You would have saved yourself time by writing the ships you enjoy
I see Arya strong and independent as to endure someone other than Daenerys. So Danarya forever
Sansa/Jon-Baelish-Ramsey-Joffrey or any relationship with men. I prefer Sansa/Margaery Tirell
Dany/Jon-Jorah or Darrio
Dany/Jorah, good point. I’m guessing by Sansa/Baelish that you don’t like the pedo relationships where older guys are taking advantage of younger women.
I rescently found a Sansa/Arya and Jon/Arya of epic cluster fuck preportions so this here hell no do not read or awknowledge.
Conceptually I have issues with incest where they were kids who thought they were siblings even if they aren’t blood related. These issues compound when genetic children get involved as I was very well socially trained to view as icky.

I don't like Arya/Gendry for multiple reasons. The main ones are that it feels too much like a Robert/Lyanna 'what-if' make up couple. Secondly, just because Arya spent time traveling with Gendry, all of a sudden they need to be together? I don't agree. From Arya's point of view, Gendry abandoned her for the Brotherhood. I don't feel like she would forgive that, even if something was there between them originally.

Those are excellent points. I’d never thought of it as Robert/Lyanna ‘what-if’ make up couple because as far as I can see Lyanna wanted no part in that and Gendry seems more decent then Robert. How would Arya deal with willful abandonment? I suppose it depends on book/tv Arya.

I agree that Lyanna didn't want the relationship so the previous version never really happened. I believe Gendry was recognized look-wise as being like Robert so the repeat would be more house-house and look-wise rather than actual personality.
