I'm pretty amused that House Danarya seem to all subscribe to the Old Gods. But I'm also not totally surprise.
I'm not either M'Lord.
“I’m not a Lady, I’m a Wolf!” "He who fights with monsters should be careful lest he thereby become a monster. And if thou gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will also gaze into thee." The tormentor becomes the tormented. People become what they love and hate, because their mind focuses on it."
lts likely for the same reason that peganisim -and I'm using this broadly to cover many earth-based religions; but mostly the western ones- is coming back in the west. -- At least here on the US west coast -shrugs- One of the core ideas of paganisim is basically, in bare bones novice terms, do as you will; so long as it causes no harm.
Which, for a group of people (House Danarya) whom the majoirty falls on the queer spectrum; thats basically as close to acceptance as most of us has ever gotten from a 'religion'
Plus, you know, all those old earth religions had some amazingly badass goddesses or heroines in their folk lore.

I share that belief, as I'm a great fan of mythology and old european history . however, I never thought that this of course would especially appeal to queer people. I mean I guess I always reluctantly knew why I was such a fan of Artemis and her huntresses when I was 6 years old and first read the storries

I've been happily toeing the line of paganism for many years now. I fully blame a friend of mine for this, and for her draging me to Faerieworlds. (Which hey, I got to see Wardruna live so that was amazing).
The ancient religions are pretty amazing as far as the mythos and folklore goes. Though when it comes to Greek and Roman gods, everything can be blamed on the fact that someone stuck their dick where they shouldnt have.

Do no Harm, But Take no Shit.

in essence I suppose. There's also the three fold law; which is just karma in a sense.

Keeping in mind I’m not very well versed in source material (I was totally going to say well versed in the universe but I thought it’d be confusing). If I’m understanding correctly the old gods are a huge as adjustable pantheon that are often referred to in collective which ‘preach’ the Golden Rule? And the Many Faced God is every god of death, ever, anywhere? And the Sept are 7 assholes who try to be the Holy Roman Church? Yeah, no contest. Old gods all the way (cause the many faced god is also there).
