Forget the leaks. All countless number of them.
Forget the (very probable) disappointing mess we are going to end up being handed by D&D in 2019.
Forget the ugly fact that D&D DO in fact know the ending GRRM has planned, and although the journey itself on the show will be different, the destination is going to align with the books.
Sometimes, when I try to understand a plot's motives, I play a little game
Join me here for some EPIC THEORYCRAFTING for the end of Game of Thrones, if you had your say in how it all might go down.
I've already mentioned before that if I had my way, I'd like to see the redemption of Jaime Lannister by saving Bran Stark, the boy he'd once crippled without a second thought, bringing him 'full circle'.
Another twist I'd find interesting (and kinda heartbreaking) is if, at the end, after he defeats the Mountain and is gravely wounded, Arya is faced with having to kill the Hound as a mercy:
"Do you remember where the heart is?"
And this time she does, even though this time it is the last thing in the world she wants to do.
Also, I'll never give up my pipe dream of Arya joining Dany's Queensguard (because she has madd skillz, and Dany sure as hell wouldn't have a problem with a skilled female fighter donning the white cloak).
She's not the heir to Winterfell, and has no real obligation to remain in the North. The bases are all covered there with her remaining siblings. In fact, Nymeria's decision to remain in the Riverlands could even be some foreshadowing for Arya's eventual return to the South. She will never be a lady; never live a 'traditional' life. The Stark name and future does not rest on her shoulders.
She's basically a perfect candidate for that sort of role.
