A Spin off of my thread Canon Resources (and other useful things). This one focuses solely on useful things involving writing in genreal, world building, character developement, ect ect. This list containues blog posts, tumblr posts, anything thats semi useful.

At this time, its mostly reblogs I have posted to my own tumblr. But if you have any links of useful writing resources you think should be added to this list PLEASE SHARE THEM

The Basics:
A Dictionary - "I don't think that means, what you think it means" - Inigo Montoya
A Thesaurus - For when you need another word for the thing. Or when theres a word you want, and it means a thing, but you cant remember, so you research another word that means the thing.
Dictionary of Unusual Words - Expand your vocab with unusual or weird words!
Reverse Dictionary - When you know the meaning but not the word.
Whats that Word? - "Its on the tip of my tongue. Starts with____"
Rhymes With... - "Duck Puck Tuck, Buck, Fuck, Good Luck"
Lexicon of Ancient Languages - From Egyptian to Old Norse and Old English. Dead languages come to life!

Google Search - You laugh. But I'm not kidding. Google is your friend

Cheat Sheets:
Cheat Sheet of Fighting Words - hack and slash your way to a better fighting scene!
Cheat Sheet for Body Language Part 1 & Part 2 - Super useful way to show, and not tell how a character is feeling.
Cheat Sheet of Words to Replace Said - Yes, for the love of all, use something other then "said"
Cheat Sheet to Describe Voice - Expressive ways to describe a tone of voice.
Cheat Sheet Emotional Description - Because there are more ways then one to say Happy/Mad/Sad/Afraid
Cheat Sheet of Shades of Color - Because her lips were carmine and her eyes like sapphires. (Not the best list of colors tbh. But the point is still there)
Cheat Sheet for Alt Words Meaning Very - Be ~~very intelligen~~t brilliant with this ~~very important~~ crucial cheat sheet.
Cheat Sheet of Gender Neutral Terms - For those writing NB or GF characters. Or need this list for other reasons.

The Character section really does help. Because having a similar enough Face to whomever you're writing helps greatly.

This is technically a WIP. Theres a few other things I know exist but have to find again. And I'm always on the hunt for other useful resources.
