I'm so glad to read that someone else shares the view I have on this shitty season! From the teleportation of the character around Westeros to the bad character development to the plot holes, damn it, they are ruining my second favorite TV show!
Also, do you know how annoying is it to watch the show with Jonerys fans that can't see anything wrong with the season? My whole family (except for my lil sister) is like that :'v
Oh thank gods. Someone who actually understands what ASOIAF set out to be and is like WTF TARDISes?! alongside the decline of any and all nuanced character growth.
Be the change you want to see in the world.
Because if that's the line that reeled in Starky, someone else could be out there too, waiting for the courage to step forward and share their thoughts and talents. We're really not as scary as you might think
It is more like character de-evolution--Jaime, Varys, Littlefinger, all of a sudden Cersei is a genius, Arya gets played by Littlefinger and Jon is, well where to start, plot armor for days, offers sword to Jorah when it belongs to the Little Bear (why? you ask, she has no penis, that's why), Sansa saves Jon's ass (no one acknowledges the fact (why? she has no penis), Arya destroys the Frey's she gets no credit (why? She has no penis). Jon is miraculously legitimate and has a better claim to the throne (why? I think you all get the reason why, if not SHE HAS NO PENIS).
I've seen some great gif posts on tumblr, and they speak to me because obviously, no one is happy about the D&D shit pile. Well. maybe Jonaerys shippers, but fuck em.
But the one that speaks to me is the one I'm about to share with you all.
Because holy fuck, it so relates to Red Blossoms and everything we all have been talking about.
*thinks Revan might actually use that when it comes time for the wake-up call for the other three Stark blood.*
I think you're right. =D
I mean it doesn't grant the character assassination that Arya on show has been given so that they could have a fight for dominance between Sansa and Arya but it does explain why Arya is almost as shut down emotionally as Bran. Using the Training from the House of Black and White, she's blocking out all the horror and what not she had gone through instead of working through it. Something each of the tormented Characters isn't given. Like Theon had a PTSD flashback during the attack of Euron.

The thing is, out of all the living Starks, Arya is the one that literally got the short end of the stick.
Sansa had to learn to keep her mouth shut to avoid being beaten sure. Sansa slept in comfort within the Red Keep. She had rich food every night, never knowing hunger. Her clothes were the height of fashion and well made. She was able to get cleaned whenever she wished. And when she was taken from King's Landing, it was to go to the Eyre, where again, she slept in a comfortable, had her fill of food, had had good quality and clean clothing. When traveling, she likely stayed in Inns and other half decent establishments that kept a roof over her head. She traveled in realitive comfort, carriage mostly, with a armed escort. She spent time pretending to be a bastard, but it was only a role she played, and only part time. And yes, when she finally returns home, Sansa is married, and raped by Ramsay, beaten and raped. But still she is fed, and clothed, kept warm and dry. Because Sansa was valuable. Sansa was the eldest daughter of House Stark, and as far as anyone knew, the rightful heir of Winterfell. For all that she suffered, she did so in realitive comfort, never knowing hunger or cold, or having to outright fear for her life until she made her escape to Castle Black. And even then it was only for a sort while. As once she was at Castle Black, she was protected and kept well by Jon.
Jon may have seen horrors beyond the wall, to be sure. Hes seen battle, hes known cold and have been hungry, like all the other men of the watch when supplies began to run low. But he was made the Steward of the Lord Commander, and then made Lord Commander himself. And even his time with the wildlings, pretending to be a turn-cloak, something he was not, were not so terrible for him Uncomfortable at times yes, but by no means horrible, as the where in all honesty equal to the same conditions any other free folk faced. And ya, he was betrayed, and he was murdered. But he was dead for... what a few hours? a day? And what little suffering he endured when compared to his sisters, he... now gets all the nice things?
Bran, knows cold, he knows hunger. He knows betrayal and death to be sure. But he spent the vast majority of the years safe in the Children's cave beyond the wall. For all that he is crippled he suffered the least.
Arya had to learn to keep her mouth shut to avoid being killed. Arya slept in a bed of mud, soaked to the bone by rain. She did so cold, she did so hungry more often then not. What clothes she had were dirty, tattered. She walked, she walked nearly everywhere, but for the few times she was on horse back. And she did it without guards to protect her through the war torn country side. She has been beaten, she has been helped captive, made a slave in all but name. Even once she was in Essos, she still went hungry, and cold. Enduring things that Sansa can not imagine. Beaten over and over again, helpless to defend herself until she learned how to do so. She has been so many people. boy, girl. Arry, Cat, Wheasle, Beth, Salty, Mercy. Hell even Walder Fray. And not part time, and not just for a little while, but for months and years. In a way Arya also died. not by the hands of others but by her own hand. She killed the girl that was Arya Stark to become No One, until it was time to resurrect herself; Arya Stark, a woman grown. And she has been a cripple. She has been blind, and deaf and mute. And never let that slow her down. Learning to turn those experiences to her advantage.
And I'm not making light of the things Sansa endured. Or belittling how horrible it must be to know you had been murdered. To know that there is nothing beyond death but darkness.
But it really really fucking bothers me that Sansa just assumes that Arya couldnt have endured what Sansa went through, even though what Arya survived was so much worse, and she was so much younger, and ultimately, so very alone. And it really fucking bothers me that no one asks, no one wonders how Arya, as a 11 year old girl managed to escape King's Landing, to survive a country in the middle of a civil war, death and chaos all around, when the Lannisters where looking for her. How she managed to get to Essos, how she survived once she was there, and how she got back to westeros, how she got back to Winterfell.
Glad there's still someone who looks for depth, creativity and longer seasons where many interconnecting plotlines which should be explored. How I wished GRRM never left the tv adaptation of ASOIAF to HBO and D&D's hands.
I went with the 'Dany just decided to go shortly after the Fellowship of the Idiots were scheduled to go wight hunting' idea, because if the Wall is 300 miles, it's 2700 from Eastwatch to Dragonstone, so even Drogon can't be a 560+mph 747, Dany has to like, oh, I dunno, BREATH, so more likely 300mph, so that's 9 hrs to get to the Wall and then maybe a little longer, a Raven ain't gonna be flying 300mph, maybe Half that, so the raven had to come after she left and be useless anyway (since well, Gendry's not good for a whole lot anyway). And I'm glad somebody else was like WTF!Arya?!

Didn't know that HBO and D&D includes sci-fi theme on the show, when they made Dany reach the White Walker Search Party beyond the wall to rescue them. They had this crazy hyper drive-like time loops (e.g. Varys leaving Mereen then suddenly reaches the Water Gardens in S6 finale) like "WTF they're into sci-fi now?!" Lol
Welcome~ This forum is a place for all Dany x Arya shippers to meet up and discuss the world, the lore, and the wonderful characters who make this ship! Have fun, everyone!
